Window Signs code changes in Carrollton, Texas
Effective January 01, 2012

Ordinance 3458 amends the Carrollton Sign Regulations for Window Signs.

  • Size of window signs shall not exceed 25% of total visible window area for any wall segment.
  • No sign shall be illuminated to cause a glare of brightness that constitutes a hazard or nuisance.
  • Moving, flashing, blinking, changing color, beacons, or revolving signs are prohibited.
  • All signs visible from the exterior of a window shall be attached to the window or to the structure.
  • When the back side of display shelving, storage or other fixtures are located adjacent to a window, the windows shall be obscured up to four feet with an opaque window film adhered to the window such that the back side of the display shelving, storage or other fixtures are not visible through the window.
  • Foil, newspaper, cardboard and other such materials placed in windows is prohibited.
